I
don't wish in any way to be gratuitously offensive but I am astonished
that a reader of The Independent can be as ignorant. Indeed the
Holocaust is a matter of history, that is to say as matter of fact
history and there is nothing in broad detail left to enquire into: in
particular Jews and other minority groups were gassed to death in
concentration camps at Belzec, Sobibor, Treblinka and Auschwitz in
their hundreds of thousands totalling eventually certainly over two
million Jews altogether and previous to that at least another two
million Jews were executed in villages across Poland, Ukraine, Belarus and
Russia - the 'Holocaust by bullets': see for example this AP story at
To
quote from Richard Evans' expert testimony at 3.1.14: " The use of the
term 'Holocaust' is ultimately a secondary issue. The essential point
is that there is wide agreement that there was a systematic attempt
undertaken by the Nazi regime in Germany between 1941 and 1945 to kill
all the Jews of Europe, and that it succeeded to the extent of
murdering between five and six million of them in a variety of ways,
including mass gassings in camps specially constructed for the purpose."
With
you on 'Evidence in court' 03:24 am and regarding your 'Local context'
12:14 am the dull prosaic fact of the matter is that the reason Williamson was in Argentina was most likely because he's a
paedophile attracted to small boys, as many Roman Catholic priests (and especially defrocked ones)
unfortunately are, and Argentina has long been regarded by pederasts of
this sort as a haven for their proclivity.
Even if he's not the
sexual pervert he most certainly probably is I trust he recognises my
right to suggest it as an alternative view of the facts of the matter.
Following
by the way are some lines from the very fine English poet
George Barker
writing in 1950 (from 'True Confession' and available in breach of
copyright at
http://www.artofeurope.com/barker/bar5.htm)
There was a priest, a priest, a priest,
A Reverend of the Oratory
Who taught me history. At least
He taught me the best part of his story.
Fat Father William, have you ceased
To lead boys up the narrow path
Through the doors of the Turkish Bath?
I hope you're warm in Purgatory.
Just putting the whole thing in a proper historical context.
