Jubilee Debt Campaign
'On 8 April 2010, thanks to the relentless campaigning of thousands of our supporters, the Debt Relief (Developing Countries) Act, which severly restricts the actions of vulture funds in the UK, was passed into law. Hopefully this landmark legislation will set an example to other governments who still let vultures use their courts for this immoral practice.'

(By popular request the return of QBragSolo - a brute force solution to the optimal 3 by 3 poker square. Unzip the file into a folder and look for ReadMeFirst.txt and QBragSolo.exe with a goblet of fire icon. Looking at it again I see that despite providing a very lucid Help file I'm still pleased with I forgot to indicate how to actually play the thing: click on Deal and a card will appear - click on square in the grid to put it there. Sorry, haven't a clue now what the rest of it does. 5 by 5 case still toasting ...  Incidentally I'm no longer living in Weymouth)
Welcome to GutClean, original home to probably the most visceral Gutenberg and electronic texts formatting Windows utility to be found anywhere on the web (but now superseded somewhat by rather more sophisticted ebook readers).
GutClean was an early application that let you read Gutenberg etexts and similar etexts directly in your electronic reader without having to download them first from commercial providers, many of whom charged for their files. If you're curious you can read about it here and download it here.
Lately we haven't done much to the site but we recently added the 'Buddhist sex abuse cases' page recounting our woes in attempting to document the sexual excesses of some contemporary Buddhist teachers, many of whom are content enough to use Wikipedia to promote their communities but less so it seems to see it document their sexual adventures. Equally we have recently added a page documenting our trials in editing the Vincent van Gogh article in Wikipedia, adding our own experience to those of the many who have discovered that in fact it's not true that 'anyone can edit' Wikipedia
Literate consewers of the site will notice that most of our madness-of-2008 blogging has been cut and in general the site hasn't been touched in months. In fact we've been away hunter-gathering for a while (well every little bit counts) and the urge to sound off at the click of a mouse has dissipated somewhat. We have lost interest in the financial markets and decline to offer an opinion, having no reason to suppose our models more satisfactory in the current conditions. William Boyd
